- **IMPORTANT**Posted on: 2010-08-20The Township has received the preliminary flood hazard maps from FEMA. There is a 90 day review period which ends September 27, 2010. You can either review the maps in the Planning Board office or go to the websites to determine if your property is int he flood plain and view the preliminarey maps. The new maps are based on GIS mapping.
More information regarding the appeal process, etc., can be found on the township site.

You can zoom in on property location and the aerial view will show you, by color, the Special Flood Hazard Area. If you click on the FEMA Flood Zone Designations, you can see what is required by FEMA for these areas.
On the Green Twp site, you can:
-Read about the NFIP Facts
-Find out how to read the maps and what the information means
-Find out how you are affected
-What recourse is available if you believe the map is incorrect
-Information regarding flood insureance costs.
If you believe the map is incorrect and you have documentation, you must submit it directly to FEMA and send an an informational copy of same to the Planning Board office. It is importatnt to do this during the 90 day review period. New maps become effective 6 mos after the end fo the appeals period or after all appeals are resolved.
